Karen Hoff Barron
M.Sc., R.SLP, S-LP (C)
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I am passionate about empowering children through speech, language and literacy.
Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience working with children in a wide variety of settings including: school, home, preschool health, early education/Head Start, daycare and community settings.
I enjoy working closely with families to support the implementation of communication strategies in the home environment. I regularly collaborate with school teams and other professionals to improve outcomes for children and families. I also have knowledge and experience providing speech therapy services to First Nations Children with funding approved through Jordan’s Principle.
I have pursued advanced training in areas including: early intervention, autism spectrum disorder, social communication, and severe speech disorders. I also have extensive training, interest and experience working with children with complex communication needs (augmentative and alternative communication).
As a Certified Hanen Speech-Language Pathologist, I have recently been involved with teaching parent-implemented early language intervention programs via telepractice with the Ontario Autism Program.
